The success of our work relies heavily on community involvement. We have several volunteer programs and events year-round that serve as a great way to learn, network, and most importantly, provide critical resources to youth experiencing homelessness.
Safe Place for Youth's incredible volunteers are vital partners of our mission to end youth homelessness. Their dedication and commitment to upholding our therapeutic approach in serving youth are woven into every aspect of our programs. This includes preparing and serving food, front desk management, sorting donations, running the clothing closet, street outreach, data entry, teaching yoga, and art projects. The Venice Youth Network (VYN) is a virtual community meeting that creates opportunities for education, collaboration, and connection in order to achieve support, health and wellness for young adults experiencing or at risk of homelessness and trauma. All are welcome! There's no requirement for joining the VYN other than wanting to help youth. Participants include key partners, young people, community members, business owners, volunteers, and faith-based organizations, and more.
As a community, we must continue to develop and empower our young people to sit at the table with us in the fight against youth homelessness.
